MADISON, Neb. -- A man accused of the shooting death of a Norfolk woman was sentenced this week on previous charges against the same woman.

Deshawn Gleaton Jr. was sentenced in Madison County court Tuesday to two years in prison - one each for the charges of third-degree domestic assault and criminal trespass.

According to court records, Gleaton broke into 29-year-old Hailey Christiansen's home on July 6th, 2020, and assaulted her.

Gleaton is also accused of shooting and killing Christiansen the same month after the reported break-in. He's facing five charges in that case including first-degree murder.

The trial for the murder of Hailey Christiansen is set to begin on July 12th.
