Man dies after being assaulted near 27th and Vine

LPD was investigating the homicide of a 29-year-old man Monday afternoon.

LINCOLN -- Lincoln Police are investigating the homicide of a 29-year-old man. 

It happened in the 2600 block of Vine Street on Monday afternoon. 

Police say one person is in custody. 

Authorities have not yet identified the person that was killed. 

Officials are attempting to contact that victim's next of kin. 

Lincoln Police say they arrested 50-year-old Brian Keith Adams of Lincoln for second-degree murder and a weapons charge. 

Police say it appears Adams and the victim got into a fight and a large pole was used as a weapon. 

Adams is currently in the hospital with injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
