NEBRASKA -- Several counties across Nebraska are in a winter weather advisory. 

The National Weather Service says there are counties in northeast Nebraska where rain is expected in the morning and will transition in the afternoon or evening. 

NWS says the earliest transition to snow will be between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. near the South Dakota boarder. 

They say the most likely switchover time is between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

It was noted that much of the snow will melt and be done by Tuesday morning. 

The following counties are in a high wind warning until 12/30/24 at 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT: Kimball, Cheyenne.

The following county is in a winter weather advisory until 12/30/24 at 9 p.m. CT/8 p.m. MT: Sheridan.

The following counties are in a winter weather advisory until 12/31/24 at 12 a.m. CT/11 p.m. MT: Dawes, Keya Paha, Rock, Wheeler, Boyd, Holt.

The following counties are in a winter weather advisory until 12/31/24 at 6 a.m. CT/5 a.m. MT: Knox, Cedar, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison.
