ELM CREEK, Neb. - A semi-truck fire early Tuesday morning drew a quick response from the Elm Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Deputies arrived around 2:30 a.m. to find a semi truck engulfed in flames about two miles west of Elm Creek.

The driver disconnected the trailer and got out safely before flames reached the cab.

Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the fire before it could spread further.

Authorities noted on social media that many of the volunteers returned to their full-time jobs later that morning after responding to the fire.
