KEARNEY, Neb.— A Boone County man will be heading the national stage next year after earning the top score at a Farm Bureau meet.

Carson Maricle won the top score during the final round of the 2025 Nebraska Farm Bureau Collegiate Meet.

Maricle will get $250 and attend the 2026 American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference in March all expenses paid.

According to the Farm Bureau, the meet aims to, “simulate a committee meeting rather than a debate, where competitors offer solutions to timely problems facing agriculture.”

Maricle will be graduating later this month with a major in agriculture economics and minors in both the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and animal science. After graduation, Maricle plans to work back on his family farm in southeast of Albion.

His twin brother, Cody Maricle, won the same award in 2024.
