NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A Nebraska Panhandle man accused of sexually assaulting a minor appeared in Lincoln County District Court Monday.

Robert Aue Jr., 43, whose address is listed in Dix, is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges, which stem from an investigation that began in Sept. 2024 and involve alleged incidents in Lincoln and Madison counties.

According to an arrest affidavit, a woman and her then-9-year-old daughter met with a Lincoln County investigator on Aug. 23, 2024. The girl told investigators she had been sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by Aue Jr., court records show. She was later forensically interviewed.

The affidavit alleges Aue Jr. provided the child with money in exchange for sexual activity. Aue was interviewed by investigators several days later and was subsequently arrested.

The affidavit also quotes Aue Jr. as saying he was attracted to young girls and describing himself as “a sick person,” according to court records.

Aue appeared in court this morning; his case was continued to Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. He is currently lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
