The Omaha Storm Chasers found a way to win another high-scoring matchup with New Orleans on Thursday night.

Erick Mejia’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning brought home Chase d’Arnaud with the winning run as the Chasers earned a 10-9 win at Werner Park.

The Chasers had edged the Baby Cakes the previous two nights 9-8 and 11-10.

The lead went back and forth throughout Thursday’s game.

Jecksson Flores hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to pull the Chasers even at 7-7. Flores has hit safely in 13 of his past 14 games.

Isan Diaz led off the top of the seventh with his 23rd home run of the season for New Orleans. The Chasers regained the lead in the eighth, scoring twice on an error.

Omaha was two outs away from the win, but New Orleans’ Eddy Alvarez homered to left against Josh Staumont, sending the game to extra innings.

After Staumont struck out the side in the top of the 10th, d’Arnaud started the bottom of the inning at second base and immediately stole third. New Orleans walked the next two batters to load the bases with no outs.

Flores struck out, but Mejia followed with a flyout to left field, deep enough to score d’Arnaud.

Brett Phillips, batting ninth, led the Chaser offense by going 3 for 3 with three runs scored. He hit his team-leading 11th triple.

Staumont struck out the last five batters he faced and earned his first win this season.

The Chasers start a three-game series against Memphis on Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Werner Park.
