The Nebraska soccer team (0-2-1) continues its rigorous non-conference schedule this weekend when the Huskers visit California to face a pair of 2018 NCAA Tournament qualifiers.

On Friday night, the Huskers battle Long Beach State (1-2) at George Allen Field in Long Beach, Calif., starting at 9 p.m. (CT). The match will be streamed live online on BigWest.TV. Fans can also follow live stats on Long Beach State's athletics website or on Twitter by following @NebraskaSoccer.

Nebraska faces No. 4 USC (4-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT) at McAlister Field in Los Angeles, Calif. The match will be streamed live on Pac-12 Plus and live stats will be provided on USC's athletics website. Fans can also follow @NebraskaSoccer on Twitter for updates.

Last Time Out
The Huskers salvaged a tie against No. 21 Baylor on Sunday night at Hibner Stadium after falling to Clemson, 2-0, in NU's home opener on Friday night.

Next Up
The Huskers return home to host Oklahoma (Friday, Sept. 13 at 7:05 p.m.) and Gonzaga (Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1:05 p.m.) at Hibner Stadium.

Kicking Off
• The Huskers are scheduled to make two showings on television this season. The Big Ten Network will televise Nebraska's home match against Northwestern on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Hibner Stadium. ESPNU will televise NU's match at Minnesota on Thursday, Oct. 17.

• Nebraska's devoted fan base continued its strong attendance numbers during the first weekend at Hibner Stadium this season. The Huskers saw two crowds of more than 1,000 fans against Clemson (1,130) and Baylor (1,287) last weekend at home. During each of the first four years at Hibner Stadium, the Huskers averaged more than 1,000 fans per home game. NU has ranked in the top 25 nationally and in the top two of the Big Ten in average attendance during all four years at the venue.

• All three of Nebraska's opponents have been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll at some point this season. This week, Kansas is ranked 11th and Clemson is No. 19, the highest ranking by both teams in 2019. Baylor has been ranked as high as No. 14 (Preseason), but is receiving votes this week. Sunday's opponent, USC, is ranked No. 4 this week, its highest spot this season.

Scouting the Long Beach State 49ers
• Long Beach State is 1-2 this season after defeating San Diego in overtime on Monday night by a 2-1 margin. In the Beach's first two games, they lost to No. 4 UCLA and No. 7 Penn State after the season opener at Arizona was canceled.

• Last season, Long Beach State went 12-6-3 overall en route to earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The 49ers won the Big West with a 5-1-2 record in conference play.

• Friday night will be the first meeting between Nebraska and Long Beach State.

• Head Coach Mauricio Ingrassia is 168-104-39 in his 16th season overall at Long Beach State. He is assisted by Jeff Joyner, Joey Sudyka and Patrick Seymour.

Scouting the USC Trojans
• USC is 4-0 this season, outscoring its opponents by a 11-3 margin. After shutting out Hawaii and San Francisco, the Trojans topped Florida and Florida State last weekend. USC hosts Northern Arizona on Friday before facing Nebraska on Sunday.

• USC is ranked No. 4 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Trojans were ranked fifth in each of the first two set of rankings before climbing up one spot this week.

• Last season, USC went 17-2-3 overall to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament, where the Trojans advanced to the third round. USC finished third in the Pac-12 with an 8-2-1 mark in conference play.

• Nebraska leads the all-time series against USC, 3-1-0, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 1995. The two teams last met in 2001, when NU emerged with a 3-2 road victory.

• Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is 82-21-12 in his sixth season at USC. McAlpine holds a career record of 138-78-29 in his 13th year overall. He is assisted by Jason Lockhart, Sammy Towne and Ian Feuer.
