STANTON COUNTY - One person is in the hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Stanton County.

In a news release from the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office, authorities say the accident happened at a county road intersection about nine miles southeast of Stanton around 1:35 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say a car driven by 65-year-old Duane Berninghaus of Iowa and a truck driven by 45-year-old Jason Gall or rural Clarkson collided.

Berninghaus was transported by Pilger Rescue to Faith Regional in Norfolk.

Gall was not injured and a passenger in his pickup was treated and released at the scene.

Seatbelts and airbags were in use during the accident.

Clarkson Fire and Rescue also responded to the call.
