More information released regarding Thursday's vehicle accident near West Point
WEST POINT - More details have been released regarding Thursday's three-vehicle accident near West Point.
The Cuming County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle driving westbound on Highway 275 approximately 2.5 miles northwest of West Point turned into the driveway for Cottonwood Chimes. A second westbound vehicle slowed for the turning vehicle, and a third westbound vehicle took the shoulder to go around two other vehicles.
The vehicle which drove on the shoulder returned to the roadway and clipped in front of one vehicle. That vehicle then crossed the center-line of Highway 275 and collided head-on with another pickup.
The Sheriff's Office says four different people were injured in the accident, with each injured party being transported by EMS to different medical facilities. 41-year-old Wade Miserez of West Point, 18-year-old Isabeau Pusch of Omaha, 63-year-old Russell Davis and 67-year-old Debra Davis of Livingston, Texas were all identified as having suffered injuries.
West Point Fire and Rescue, Beemer Fire and Rescue, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Cuming County Sheriff's Office all responded to the scene. The accident is currently under investigation by the Cuming County Sheriff's Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
