NORFOLK - Business leaders and community members from all across northeast Nebraska met in Norfolk Monday night for a town hall to discuss economic development and population growth in the region.

The event was called Northeast Nebraska Growing Together and featured many community leaders such as Mike Flood and Mayor Josh Moenning, along with local University Presidents.

Those speakers discussed a plan that pairs entrepreneurs with investment capital and students to redesign a workforce that can compete in a modern economy.

As part of the 2 hour event, Flood talked about the most valuable thing produced in Northeast Nebraska...

"If you grow up in Battle Creek [or other small northeast Nebraska towns], you are gold," said Flood.

The discussion covered changing migration patterns to help keep these workers in the region.
