NORFOLK - Norfolk Public Schools will not be needing a new Superintendent. According to an email from current Superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson, she is going to stay with the district.

Thompson was recently named a finalist for a Superintendent position in Missouri, but said in an email Monday that she was not selected for the job.

Thompson says she will be focusing her efforts on passing a potential bond issue.

She ended her email saying "Norfolk Public Schools is an amazing district and I am proud to continue as your superintendent... Go Panthers!"

Thompson made this announcement the same day it was announced Norfolk Administrator Mike Hart will be leaving to take over as Superintendent in Palmyra, Nebraska.
