One person injured in three-vehicle Norfolk crash
NORFOLK, Neb. -- One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash in Norfolk Tuesday.
Around 3:40 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Queen City Boulevard/7th St.
NPD Capt. Chad Reiman three vehicles were involved in the accident - a pickup, SUV, and car.
Reiman said the driver of the pickup was heading east on prospect, failed to stop at the stop sign, and ended up striking the SUV that was heading north on 7th St.
After hitting the SUV, Reiman said the pickup continued through the intersection and ran into the car that was stopped at the stop sign heading west on Prospect Ave.
The driver of the pickup was a 19-year-old Norfolk man, and Reiman said he was cited for a stop sign violation.
Reiman said one of the three drivers was transported by ambulance with unknown injuries. The others were treated on scene.
Responding agencies were the Norfolk PD and Norfolk Fire & Rescue.
Traffic was affected for approximately 30 minutes.
