KEARNEY, Neb. -- Braylon Wolfe scored 16 points and Thomas Birch grabbed 16 rebounds as Grand Island Central Catholic handled Kearney Catholic 63-29 on Friday night.

The Stars (4-4) started the game with a pair of three-pointers to grab a 6-0 lead. The game stayed close for the next few minutes before the Crusaders (9-2) closed the first quarter on an 8-0 run to lead 20-11. They dominated the rest of the way to earn a blowout road win.

Wolfe supplied the spark in the first half. The sophomore point guard scored all 16 of his points in the half and drained four three-pointers. The second half belong to Thomas Liban and Birch. The duo combined for 13 points in the half on four made threes.

GICC's defense helped key the win. The Crusaders held the Stars to just two points in the third quarter, ending any hope of a comeback. Kearney Catholic was slowed by poor shooting at the free throw line, where they went just 3-16.
