Last week, Columbus residents had complained that their most recent water bills were much higher than normal and didn't understand why.

On Friday, the city posted to their Facebook page that a recent software conversion caused meters to be read later than normal.  It says the most recent bill includes around 15 extra days of consumption and that the next bill will include fewer days.

The city also has tips for how residents can follow their water consumption history.

You can do that by following the directions:
1) Go to:
2) Type in your address
3) Select your account
4) Input your ‘ONLINE LOOKUP PIN#:’ located on the top right side of your billing statement, under the detachable portion
5) Click ‘submit’
