STANTON, Neb. -- A Stanton man made his first appearance in court on Monday.

Stanton County Court said 27-year-old Jordan Wagner-Munoz of Stanton made his first appearance after he was formally charged with felony assault on a police officer along with resisting arrest and driving during suspension.

Officials said that Wagner-Munoz was arrested back in December by the Sheriff's Office in Stanton after he was observed driving during suspension, and when he was contacted he refused to cooperate and began to resist arrest.

Authorities said that during the struggle he allegedly bit a Sheriff's deputy on his wrist, and Wagner-Munoz was finally subdued when other officers arrived on the scene.

Officials said a female, 30-year-old Debra Thomsen of Stanton, was also present and charged with obstructing a police officer for her actions during the struggle and made her first court appearance as well.

Both are scheduled to appear back in court on February 8th.
