Sheriff’s office asks for public's help in locating felon

STANTON, Neb. -- The Stanton County Sheriff's office is asking for the public's assistance in finding a felon.
Officials are looking for 26-year-old Tausha Whitman, who walked away from a treatment program earlier this month while she was out on a cash bond. She failed to appear in court this past week.
The Stanton County Sheriff's office said an arrest warrant was issued for Whitman. Her last known residence is in Norfolk, and she is wanted on multiple felony charges that include possession of almost a pound of methamphetamine and possession of a stolen firearm by a felon.
Officials said that Whitman is a white female, 5'4" and is about 130 lbs. with visible tattoos.
Authorities said she could be considered dangerous based on her past criminal history.
The Stanton County Sheriff's office asks that if anyone has any knowledge of her location, to contact the Sheriff's office at (402) 439-2212 or your local law enforcement agency.
Whitman was originally arrested last August by the Sheriff’s office on Hwy 275 near Stanton.
