Man arrested on outstanding warrants, controlled substance charges

A 36-year-old homeless man is facing multiple charges after an arrest in northeast Nebraska.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 36-year-old homeless man is facing multiple charges after an arrest in northeast Nebraska.

On Saturday morning, Norfolk Police were dispatched to a reported disturbance in the 200 block of W. Madison Avenue. During the investigation, officers made contact with the 36-year-old man, who had an active Madison County arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Officers then took the man into custody and searched him, reportedly recovering a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
