NORFOLK, Neb. -- A Norfolk man is in custody after being accused of peering into apartment windows.

At 11:42 p.m. on Monday, Norfolk Police were called to the 1000 block of Village Green Drive following reports of a man peeping in apartment windows.

When officers arrived in the area, they began searching for the individual, eventually finding a male looking in a ground floor apartment window. NPD says the man was wearing a black ski mask which concealed his face.

Capt. Michael Bauer said the individual had a fake identification card, but was later identified as Yandriel Rojas-Portal, 28, of Norfolk. He also had an
Apple iPhone in his pocket, Bauer said.

The reporting party was interviewed and stated that they saw Rojas-Portal standing a by an apartment window with his cell phone in his hand, which prompted them to call the police. The resident, whose window Rojas-Portal was reportedly peering through, stated that the window views into the bedroom.

A search warrant was obtained for the iPhone. The phone contained photographs of the person in the apartment in a state of undress, Bauer said.

Bauer said the photos were from the exterior of the apartment looking through the bedroom window and were time stamped shortly before the officers arrived.

Rojas-Portal was arrested for unlawful intrusion. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
