MADISON, Neb. -- Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, and officers with the Madison County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for a person acting 'erratic' and possibly under the influence of methamphetamine Thursday night. 

Madison Police Officer Matthew Gartner, told NCN that once authorities arrived on the scene they discovered a 35-year-old Madison man, who barricaded himself inside his home.

The man is suspected of killing his two dogs and assaulting his brother who also resides in the home. 

Officer Gartner said that the brother ran to the neighbors to call 911 and report his brother for assault. 

After around an hour of police trying to coerce the man out of his house, he surrendered and was then put under arrest. 

The man is now facing possible charges including; felony animal cruelty and assault. 

The Madison Police Department, Madison Sheriff's Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol responded to the incident.
