NORFOLK, Neb. -- The 2nd Annual Downtown Norfolk Concert Series is scheduled for this summer at River Point Square.

River Point Square is the new park at 3rd and Norfolk Avenue. These events are free to the public.

The Downtown Norfolk Association (DNA) is hosting this three-part concert series again this year with all three concerts taking place on three different Friday evenings in June, July, and August.

During the events, the beer garden will be open at 5:30 p.m., the opening act will be playing from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the headliner will be performing from 7:00 to 11:00 PM.

A portion of 3rd Street will be closed for the beer garden from Norfolk Avenue south to the alley each Friday.

June 10th will hit off with the first concert featuring eNVy, playing a mix of country, rock and pop.

Capital Nine will headline on Friday, July 15, with rock from the past four decades.

The last event will be Friday, August 19 featuring Fender Bender, playing country and rock.

According to the press release, the DNA decided to host these events again this year to continue to raise money for a Marketing and Events Coordinator for the River Point District, in downtown Norfolk.

Food will be available from a number of downtown restaurants, ranging from pizza, sandwiches, kid-friendly meals and desserts.

Attendees will be able to order food and pick it up from within the beer garden.

In the press release, the DNA asks that attendees bring their own lawn chairs, and plan to purchase drink and food tickets with cash only.

The public is encouraged to stroll up and down the avenue, as several restaurants, bars and stores will be open throughout the evening. This even is for all ages, and in the press release the DNA said that everyone is encouraged to come downtown and enjoy the electric atmosphere.
