Suspect apprehended after shots fired in Norfolk

Authorities have a suspect in custody after reports of shots being fired in Norfolk Saturday morning.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Authorities have a suspect in custody after reports of shots being fired in Norfolk Saturday morning.

Norfolk Police responded to the 1000 block of Phillip Avenue for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found that several bullets had struck a residence. No injuries were reported, according Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer.

Officers and detectives remained on scene throughout the morning.

A suspect was taken in by authorities nearly three hours later after she was located at the Norfolk Public Library. After a brief standoff, she turned herself into authorities and was apprehended shortly after 10:00 a.m.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Stanton County Sheriff's Office also responded to the incident.

NPD said there is no threat to the public at this time.
