O'NEILL, Neb. -- Dion Nemec started "Dublin's Card Shop" April 10th; selling Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards in O'Neill. You can find his trading card products here

"My mom just picked them up one day and I just -- after the first deck  --I kind of got hooked with Yu-Gi-Oh!" said 26-year-old Nemec of his first memory with playing cards.

After 15 years of collecting, Nemec said he's seen the card artwork evolve, and the game gain popularity. Through the new business, Nemec said he hopes to see it grow even in Northeast Nebraska, maybe even seeing a tournament start in O'Neill.

The business should also offer a reliable vendor for hobbyists.

"There's a lot of problems with buying online, with things like scams," Nemec noted, some cards costing hundreds of dollars (Nemec's most valuable is around $250). That's why building trust is his biggest challenge right now.

But, things like customer reactions motivate him. His first client was an 11-year-old searching for a Charizard card.

"The kids' faces sometimes, and even adults and teenagers, it's awesome to see people open them," Nemec said. "It's pretty cool to see what the packs have inside them every two or three months."

Depending on how successful Dublin's Card Shop becomes, he might start shuffling in NBA and Dragon Ball Z cards, too.

For the future, he wants to see the release of a holographic pokemon card of his favorite pokemon -- Psycduck. -And one day, he said, he'd consider starting NBA and Dragon Ball Z collections.
