SANTEE, Neb.-- The body of a missing 19-year-old Santee Sioux Nation woman was found on Monday. 

Santee Sioux Nation Vice Chairman Kameron Runnels, tells NCN that the body of Ashleigh Wabasha, who went missing on March 27th, was found on April 18th. 

Runnels said missing and murdered indigenous women and men is a large national-scale problem, but he's never seen it hit Santee.

The Santee Sioux Tribal Nation Police Department is unable to comment further.

The FBI is investiagting this case.
