NORFOLK, Neb-- The city of Norfolk was full of special events that started on Tuesday to donate to local charities and non-profits in northeast Nebraska.

The Norfolk Area Big Give had a multitude of sponsors putting on events throughout the city, all with the goal of raising money for charitable organizations.

According to the website, $272,086 was raised in total. 

The top organization that raised the most money was Briggs & Barrett Project which raised $98,111. Bright Horizons and Sacred Heart Parish & Norfolk Catholic Schools came in second and third with raising more than $50,000.

Elizabeth Anderson, who is the promotions director at US92, said the station is honored to help spread the word about all the great non-profits in the area.

"The generosity of our community continues to blow us away," said Anderson. "We are proud to help spread the word about all the non-profits in northeast Nebraska which are the heartbeat in our community," added Anderson.
