STANTON, Neb -- At Stanton County District Court, two plead guilty to charges relating to the break-in and theft from Pilger last fall. 

 

On Monday in Stanton County District Court, Carl Epley, 35, of Fremont and Jennifer Oswald, 41, of Beemer pled guilty to charges regarding the break-in and theft from the resident of Pilger last fall. They were both arrested following an investigation by the Stanton County Sheriff's office and most of the stolen property was recovered.

Epley pleaded guilty to Theft and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon as firearms were taken during the break-in. Oswald pled guilty to Theft and both will be sentenced this summer and Epley is currently held in the Stanton County Jail. 

Also in Stanton County District Court, Gabriel Safty, 17, made his first appearance in the District Court on charges of first degree sexual assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, burglary and felony theft. Safty was arrested by Stanton County police after a vehicle persuit on April, 21st after he allegedly broke into rural residence home and sexually assaulted a female victim and stole her vehicle that he was driving during the persuit.  Safty pleaded not guilty and appear next in court on June, 14th
