NORFOLK, Neb. -- A theatre group in northeast Nebraska is holding a theatre camp next week.

The Norfolk Community Theatre will be holding its annual Norfolk Youth Theatre Camp starting next Monday.

This year's theme is Western Melodramas.

Attendees will be placed in groups and will participate in acting and tech workshops to learn voicing and design techniques as well as other skills.

Libby McKay, the director of the Norfolk Youth Theatre Camp, said it's a great way for children interested in different aspects of theatre to learn more about how their roles affect a production and to step out of their comfort zone.

"The goal is really the journey. We have some children who tolerate being on stage but their passion is working on the set. But it's also trying to help find what speaks to them in production and the arts," McKay said.

The camp beings Monday, June 20th and ends on Saturday, May 25th, and runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day at the Cox Activities Center.

Production performances will take place on Saturday and will be open to the public.
