NORFOLK, Neb. -- A community event is returning to northeast Nebraska for the second year in a row.

Mimosa Fest will be returning to downtown Norfolk on August 13th, marking the second annual celebration of the event.

This year, the festival will feature a bottomless mimosa bar, live music, food trucks, yard games, and activities for children.

Around 1,500 people attended last years year's celebration and organizers are expecting a bigger turnout in 2022.

Jessica Walker, the general manager of US92, said the event is a great way to get the community to come together.

"It's a great sense of community. Everybody is here to have fun, everybody is here to have a good time and forget about things going on in the world around them and just come on out and have a great Saturday," she said.

Multiple Norfolk businesses will serve as vendors at the event.

Andrew McCarthy, the owner of District Table & Tap, is one of the co-coordinators of the event. He said having businesses get out and interact with the community is a positive for Norfolk.

"It's good to get everyone out and about. Social events like this are great for the community. It's good to see all the businesses downtown get involved as far as being their own vendors for ice cream or snow cones," he said. "They also have sidewalk sales so you get to enjoy the festival here and sidewalk sales along the avenue."

Mimosa Fest will run from 10 AM to 10 PM.
