NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska organization is holding a special art camp this week if you've got the spine for it!

The Norfolk Arts Center will be holding a Cactus Lovers Art Camp on Thursday and Friday.

Participants will get to use clay and acrylic paint to create different projects all revolving around cacti.

Some projects that attendees will create include a cactus painting, sculptures out of clay, and pop-up pictures.

Elley Coffin, the program coordinator for the arts center, told News Channel Nebraska how this art camp is different than previous camps in the past.

"Cacti are so fun and cute and I love how many different varieties there are. So, because kids have seemed to enjoy and love those in the last few years, we're making a whole camp based on it," Coffin said. "This one is a little bit different based on other camps we've hosted just because there is a sculptural element to it and for those kids that may not love drawing or painting, they'll have the chance to build something with their hands."

The camp will run from one to three pm each day.

Registration costs $35 for one student and $60 for two students.

Over 10 spots are still available.
