LAUREL, Neb. -- A Northeast Nebraska legion baseball player is being recognized nationally for his work on the field and in the classroom.

Dillon Olson was named over the weekend to the legion baseball all-academic team, representing the Central Plains Region.

The recent Laurel-Concord-Coleridge graduate played for the Pender legion senior baseball field.

He's just one of nine players nationally to be recognized, and gets a $2,500 scholarship.
