NORFOLK, Neb. -- A brand new café-style restaurant is now open in downtown Norfolk.

Fenders officially opened its doors last week, and so far it's seeing a tremendous response from the community, management said.

Manager Micah Milligan said she's seen a great reaction from the public since opening.

“They’ve been going really well,” said Milligan. “We’ve been really busy. I think everyone in the community is really excited to have a new coffee experience. Everyone’s been really excited to try it out.”

If you only eat gluten-free foods, you’re in luck.

“The food is really good,” she said. ”Everything is gluten-free. We’re getting out bread products from ‘Bella Bread’ out of Omaha. Actually, we sold out of it. So, we’ll be restocking that tomorrow.”

The café will also serve different types of cocktails as well.

“We have a pretty nice cocktail menu,” she said. “We’ll be incorporating fresh herbs, fresh fruits, fresh flowers in with our cocktails so that’s really exciting.

With some places around not only Nebraska but the U.S. still struggling to find quality staffing, Milligan said they haven't had that problem.

"I was a little bit nervous about finding employees," she said. "Because everybody is having a hard time staffing but honestly I think we just attracted some really great people. My employees so far have been nothing short of amazing."

Fenders is owned by the same people who also own The 411 Restaurant and Lounge that's downtown as well.

Milligan said the cafe' has a lot of European influences to its design.

"We want more of like a sidewalk cafe' and a little bit of a European kind of experience," she added. "We're really focusing on the quality of the coffee."

If you're interested in trying it out, it's located at 426 W Norfolk Ave. downtown Norfolk.
