Two Norfolk women arrested on separate drug charges Sunday
NORFOLK, Neb. – Two northeast Nebraska women were arrested on separate drug cases Sunday.
Just before 4:00 a.m. Sunday, Norfolk Police responded to the 300 block of S 10th Street for the report of a disturbance involving two women in front of a residence.
One officer spoke with a man and a woman who were by a parked vehicle. Another officer contacted two women walking away from the area. One of those two women was identified as Pamela Burns, 28, of Norfolk.
The two women denied being involved in the disturbance and continued to leave the area. The man and woman by the vehicle claimed that Burns and the second woman were arguing earlier. After speaking to the officers, they also left the area walking. As the man and woman were leaving, they stated that a book bag sitting on the trunk of the parked car belonged to Burns.
Officers reportedly checked the bag for any type of identification and, in the process, discovered a digital scale and a bag of marijuana. Officers took the items into evidence and attempted to locate Burns. She was located in the 600 block of Cedar Avenue.
NPD questioned her about the marijuana and later arrested her for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Approximately 15 hours later, Norfolk Police were called to an unrelated incident at a residence in the 700 block of Linden Lane to recover possible drugs.
When officers arrived, they spoke to the reporting party who stated that a medication pill was found in 24-year-old Alexandra Jacobsen’s purse along with a straw that had burnt residue on it. The pill was identified as Oxycodone.
Jacobsen was questioned by the officers, and she reportedly did not have a prescription for the medication. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
