OMAHA, Neb. -- Police say one person is dead after a home invasion in Omaha Tuesday morning.

Officers with the Omaha Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the area of 52nd and Curtis Streets in north Omaha at before 10:00 a.m.

Police were looking for the shooter, who officers say claimed the life of a 19-year-old man.

OPD said the mother of the victim, Alon Reed, was home at the time of the shooting and called 911 for immediate help.

A motive for the crime was not yet known Tuesday afternoon, but the victim appeared to be a target, police said.

A heavy police presence remained in the area throughout the morning.

No suspects are currently in custody.
