FORT DODGE, Iowa – It's now five wins in five tries for the Northeast Community College women's soccer team.

The Hawks scored a 2-0 road victory over Iowa Central Community College, keeping Northeast's unblemished record in tact.

The game didn’t have much flow to it but goals from Jessie Eijbersen (Arnhem, Netherlands) and Romeni Gurmendi (Boulder, Colo.) were enough to put the Hawks on top.

“Iowa Central is a solid program,” Northeast head coach Chad Miller said. “We struggled finding a rhythm and that affected our play. It is good to see we can keep our composure and find a way to win.”

The Hawks will be off to Colorado as they will face off with Northeastern Junior College at 11 a.m. Friday in Sterling, Colorado.

“On Friday we play another good team,” Miller said. “I want our focus to be to play our game and not let the game adjust our style. We have to play our game. If we do that, then a win is always possible.”
