17-year-old charged with sexually assaulting pre-teen at Woodland Park residence
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 17-year-old from northeast Nebraska is accused of sexually assaulting a pre-teen inside a Woodland Park residence.
According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, his office was notified at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday of a sexual assault that just occurred inside a home.
Unger said his office was notified that the suspect had fled the scene. A suspect vehicle was identified, and Norfolk Police was able to find and stop the vehicle.
The 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspect and taken into custody before being released to a parent due to his age. Prior to being released, he was charged with third-degree sexual assault.
The reported victim was treated at the scene by Hoskins/Woodland Park Rescue.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are still possible, according to Unger.
