NORFOLK, Neb. -- The 2023 United Way campaign kickoff meeting happened Tuesday evening at the Norfolk Country Club to benefit the residents of northeast Nebraska.

The meeting welcomed community leaders and various campaign chairs to speak about what they plan to do in their roles.

Chairwoman Leonor Fuhrer spoke to how the United Way has supported resources in the community that have helped its residents, and how she believes it will continue to do so.

"It really does take a village to raise a child, and it really does take a village to support a whole family," said Fuhrer. "These are just a few examples of the amazing work that the United Way puts out."

United Way has sponsored local groups such as The Zone, The Salvation Army, and The North Fork Area Transit System to supporting the northeast Nebraska community.

The meeting ended with a report of that meetings will happen bi-weekly. The first meeting is scheduled for September 28th, and volunteers are welcomed to come.
