Hy-Vee announces voluntary recall of potentially contaminated cheeses

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee announced this week that it is voluntarily recalling certain cheeses after fears of contamination.
The Midwest grocery chain said Monday that it is pulling eight products from shelves after being notified by Old Europe Cheese, Inc. that some cheese products that it manufactured for Saputo Cheese USA’s distribution may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses have been reported to Hy-Vee, store officials said.
The list below outlines the products that have been voluntarily recalled at Hy-Vee grocery stores in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Hy-Vee's Nebraska stores are located in Lincoln, Omaha, West Point, York, Norfolk, Plattsmouth, Papillion, South Sioux City, Nebraska City, Lexington, Kearney, Grand Island, Fremont, Falls City and Columbus.

The expiration ranges for the impacted cheeses is from Sept. 28 to Dec. 14.
Customers who purchased any of these products should discard them or return them to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund, store officials said.
