STANTON, Neb. -- Community members in northeast Nebraska are raising money for a local wrestling coach and business owner who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

In September, Stanton Wrestling released a statement:

In wrestling we talk a lot about family. And anyone who has been a part of Stanton wrestling has always developed that bond even across generations. Mark Christensen was a coach for several years within our family and continues to coach at Norfolk Public where he graduated. We are assisting in raising funds for him and his family by sharing the fundraiser started by Coach Grey to support them during this fight. Please consider helping Mark pin cancer.

Fellow Coach Justin Grey, started a GoFundMe for Christensen Monday, Oct. 3.

In the fundraiser description, Grey said that Christensen is currently going through chemo and radiation to treat cancer.

Christensen owns a business in Stanton called Cedar Valley Hunt Club, and he volunteers his time as a wrestling coach for the Norfolk Wrestling team.

"He has been a difference maker for many student-athletes on and off the mat," said Grey. "As coaches, we often talk to the team about being a family. Mark is part of the wrestling family!"
