NORFOLK, Neb. -- More endorsements have been issued in a northeast Nebraska NRD race.

Former Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District board members Bob Huntley and David Kathol announced Thursday that they have endorsed candidate Melissa Temple for the LENRD Subdistrict 3 race. Scott McHenry, the current subdistrict representative, also endorsed Temple for the four-year term.

"I support Melissa Temple for the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District," said McHenry, who is not running for re-election. "As your LENRD director for the last six years I have fought to keep our drinking water safe while also working to improve recreational opportunities in our district. I believe Ms. Temple will continue working to improve life in our district."

Temple's competition, Matthew Neujahr, has already been endorsed by the Madison County Republicans. Madison County GOP co-chair Steve Sunderman told News Channel Nebraska last month that the local party is supporting Neujahr in the race. It was part of a series of endorsements for the Madison County GOP, which also announced endorsements for the Norfolk Public Schools Board of Education.
