NORFOLK, Neb. -- Around 2:50 p.m., Norfolk Police said they saw a man they recognized that had three active arrest warrants. 

Officials said a 49-year-old homeless man was riding a bike in the 300 block of South 1st Street. The man was identified as Lyle Frisch. 

According to officials, the officer had contact with Frisch near 2nd Street and Madison Avenue. Frisch briefly stopped for the officer but then pedaled away despite multiple demands for him to stay where he was.

NPD said additional officers responded to the area and they were able to take him into custody.

Authorities said in a subsequent search, officers recovered a plastic baggie containing
methamphetamine from him.

Frisch was arrested on three Madison County warrants, possession of a controlled substance, and obstructing a peace officer. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
