US92 helps give back with Christmas Wishes program
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Everybody has a Christmas wish and a northeast Nebraska radio station is making sure those wishes come true.
US92 in Norfolk is holding its annual "Christmas Wishes" program this holiday season.
The radio station has been granting wishes for people in northeast Nebraska since 2001.
Participants can write letters online to US92.
Caelan Debban, a morning show host with US92, said people will write letters about someone in the community, in their life, or someone who has fallen on hard times.
He added that the program is one that can be emotional, but can also make someone's holiday.
"It's got that emotional driven factor where you hear how many people in our community have tough situations or how people in the community go above and beyond," Debban said. "You hear that and you think, there are a few people in my life who I would love to see receive a Christmas wish, a gift like that, to help their holiday become a little bit better."
Debban said recipients have been given anything from gift cards to toys - and even beds.
US92 partners with local Norfolk businesses to ensure these wishes come true.
Letters will be taken up until Sunday, Dec. 11.
