OMAHA, Neb. -- Authorities in Nebraska's largest city are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was shot early Sunday morning.

Officials with the Omaha Police Department said officers were called to the area of N. 61st and Ogden Streets shortly after 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

Responding officers located a boy who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, officials said. The boy was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
