PILGER, Neb. -- Authorities said they responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a power pole in Pilger on Thursday. 

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said it responded to and are investigating a single-vehicle accident in Pilger on Highway 15 that sent the driver to the hospital. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle. 

SCSO said the accident happened when an SUV that was heading south left the road and hit a power pole near First St and Highway 15 in Pilger.

It was reported that the driver was a 68-year-old woman, and the Sheriff's Office said she was extricated from the wreck by Pilger Fire and Rescue.

Authorities said the woman was taken from the scene and later transferred to paramedics from Norfolk Fire and Rescue in an EMS intercept. She was taken to a hospital in Norfolk.
