NORFOLK, Neb. -- A Norfolk man, with an active arrest warrant, was arrested for a meth charge after trying to hide behind a tree.

The Norfolk Police Department said that around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, they were called to Riverside Bld. and Alaska Ave. for a man with an active arrest warrant.

Authorities identified the man as 31-year-old Jeffrey Hoadley.

NPD said that Hoadley saw the arriving officers and tried to hide himself behind a tree.

The officers reportedly spoke to him and took him into custody.

According to NPD, officers found a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine on the ground where Hoadly was standing.

He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
