Norfolk man arrested for domestic assault charge following disturbance call

Police in Norfolk arrested a 19-year-old man for a domestic assault charge over the weekend.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Police in Norfolk arrested a 19-year-old man for a domestic assault charge over the weekend. 

The Norfolk Police Division said they arrested Noah Doescher following a physical disturbance called Saturday around 1:30 a.m.

Officers said when they arrived they spoke with an adult female who stated to authorities that she had been assault by Doescher. 

NPD said they woman told officers that her and Doescher had been in an argument.

During the argument, the woman told authorities that Doescher had placed his arm around her neck, in the form of a choke hold, and he allegedly punched her on the left side of her face.

Authorities said that a witness had separated the two as police were on their way. 

NPD said Doescher was also interviewed about the incident. 

Doescher was placed under arrest for third-degree domestic assault. 

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
