NORFOLK, Neb. -- Around 4:40 a.m., Norfolk Police said they began an investigation into a protection order violation. 

Officials said an officer saw a vehicle belonging to a 43-year-old man, of Norfolk, parked near a residence. 

According to authorities, the residence is occupied by a female who has a protection order issued against the suspect, who is not allowed to contact the woman or be at the residence. 

NPD said the suspect was not in his car, and the woman gave them permission to search the house. 

Officials said the suspect was located inside the house and was arrested for violating the protection order

NPD said he was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
