Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard welcomes 10 new members in Norfolk

The honor guard provides services to nurses living or deceased and present a “Virtual Honor Wall” online, that pays tribute to preserve the legacy of Nebraska nurses who have passed.

Sunday afternoon in Norfolk, the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard welcomed its 10 newest members into the organization. The guard honored their commitment to the nursing profession and service to helping others.

Deb Zobel, President and founder of the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard utilizes the organizations resources to support nurses across the state.

“Our mission is to support every nurse in the state of Nebraska,” she said. “Whether you’re part of the honor guard or not we appreciate all that you do.”

The honor guard provides tribute services to nurses living or deceased, and present a “Virtual Honor Wall” online, that pays tribute to preserve the legacy of Nebraska nurses who have passed.

Northeast Area Leader Dee Moeller says that Sunday marked an exciting time for the northeast sector of the guard, nearly doubling the number of its members.

“I'm just thrilled,” she said. “We started out with five of us, and then we grew to 12, and now we’ve on-boarded 10 more.”

The Nurse Honor Guard says they are always looking to reach new communities and Nurses around Nebraska.

“Whatever part of nursing, we want them to be honored and recognized,” Moeller said.
