NORFOLK, Neb. -- The reopening of North Fork Area Transit won't take place until next week, but riders can already schedule a ride.

According to NFAT's website, those wishing to use their call ahead service, "TeleLift" can start scheduling rides Monday.

Phone lines are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with riders able to ask for service which starts April 3.

When the service begins, riders can call for a same day ride, but service will be on a "first come, first serve" basis.

The NFAT ceased operations at the beginning of January after a shortage of funds. The shortage of funds was due to Jeffery Stewart allegedly embezzling up to $1 million from the company.

NFAT reopened services in March, and have done the tasks necessary to restart TeleLift.
