WAYNE, Neb.--The community of Wayne is coming together to support the families of three residents who were tragically killed in a car accident on April 3.

The accident, which took place near Emerson ,claimed the lives of Adonai Eduardo, Simeon Martinez, and Miguel Cortez Martinez.

Two restaurants in downtown Wayne, Luna's and Fiesta Brava, that the three men worked at are now mourning.

Luna's restaurant, which has family ties to Adonai Eduardo, hosted a fundraiser throughout Saturday to help with funeral costs and other expenses related to bringing his body back to his home country of Mexico.

The stepmother of Eduardo Emperatriz Nunez gave praise to the surrounding community for all of the support so far.

"I just want to say thank you to the community because the community has been really great with us," she said. "They [are] showing us their support and we're blessed."

The goal is to raise $15,000. As of Saturday, the GoFundMe has raised $1,460.

The restaurant is also hosting a dance on Saturday night to help with the efforts to reach its goal.

Funeral services will be on Sunday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Wakefield
