MADISON, Neb. -- Officials reported that two workers were injured in a fire at the Madison Tyson plant.

Units from multiple counties were called to the plant mid-morning on Sunday, with smoke visible from well beyond the facility.

The call came in after 9:00 a.m., with responders arriving from fire departments in Madison, Battle Creek, Humphrey, Lindsay, Norfolk and Stanton, among others. The fire was reportedly put out by 2:00 p.m. 

The Madison Fire Department said two Tyson workers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital but were later released. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.

No information has been made available by the company regarding any potential disruption to operations at the Tyson plant.
